Joining the Lab

Post-doctoral fellows:

Positions are limited by the funding available. If positions are availble, the job advertisements will be posted at this site and disseminated through the major list-servers.  Postdoctoral positions are generally reserved to Ph.D., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. that have recently graduated. Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology, microscopy/immuno-histochemistry, cellular biology, FACS analysis, experience working with primary cell lines, and should be able to conduct independent research. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent project and write grants. 

Graduate students:

Graduate training is one of the goals of the laboratory. Highly motivated and self-driven students are encouraged to apply through the Neuroscience Graduate Program. Undergraduates:

Occasionally the lab has the opportunity to accommodate highly motivated and enthusiastic students interested in pursuing a career in science. Typically, all open positions are advertised through the URC CARE (http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/urc-care/srp.htm). A minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during the summer (up to 40 hrs per week) are required for enrollment.

Visiting Scholars:

Spending time in a laboratory abroad is a great opportunity for students and fellows to experience science in different research settings. A minimum of 3 months commitment is required for anybody interested in joining the lab for a short period of time. Applicants should have already obtained a graduate degree (B.S. or higher) and should have at least 1 year experience in a laboratory. Individuals with his/her own funding will be given the priority.
